Chandeliers—Don’t
Overwhelm Your Poor Dining Room!
Chandeliers
are elegant and unparalleled additions to any room and they can command
attention like no other furnishing. Choosing the right
chandelier for the dining room is not exactly the “cake
walk” you might think because the size and style will depend
upon the needed illumination and size of the table.
Chandeliers
have multiple bulbs and tend to shed a lot of light. The
amount of illumination that you will need for the dining room will be
based upon this formula: Length X Width X 1.5. If a
room is 12 X 15, then you will need roughly bulbs that produce a
combined total of 270 watts. A chandelier with 6-40 Watt
bulbs will most likely provide adequate illumination, especially if
complemented by wall sconces, buffet lamps, or other light fixtures.
The
diameter of chandeliers should be approximately equal to ½
the width of the dining room table and mounted close to 27-30 inches
above the table. At Barnes & Wagner, we have lighting
experts here to help you choose from our wide selection of chandeliers
to find the best one for your décor, taste, and
budget! We will not waste your time trying to sell you a
chandelier that will be inappropriate for your décor.
At
Barnes & Wagner, we offer our customers only high quality
chandeliers and other lighting such as ceiling
lighting fixtures and hanging
lamps so you have certainly come to the right
place. You already know that you want a quality crafted
chandelier—now let our lighting experts help you find the
perfect one for you, your home, and your wallet!
